East London-based photographers Tim and Barry have been documenting the capital’s grime scene since its beginnings. Dubbed ‘the kings of the photographic underground’ (Wired), they have worked with artists like Dizzee Rascal, Jammer and M.I.A., alongside their ongoing commitment to provide emerging artists and local kids with creative workshops on audio and video production.
Just Jam is the live online channel they have been running for over four years on DontWatchThat.tv. Featuring live DJ sets from artists of the caliber of Mike Skinner, Four Tet and emerging East London talent, the Just Jam sessions take place in front of a blue screen, which projects the tiny room in Dalston where everything is being recorded into a psychedelic audiovisual world of wonder.
Just Jam at the Barbican will be a hugely ambitious multimedia experience combining cutting edge music performances from some of the artists who have built and solidified Just Jam's reputation - including Loefah, Chunky, Big Narstie, Newham Generals, Kurupt FM, Marawa the Amazing, and more to be announced - with state-of-the-art live video and audience interaction.
