Wild Visions is a new intimate dance party held at Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds, hosted by Matt Woodward (Release Yourself // Galaxians // Free Forms) and DJ Boogie Monster (Downtown Science). Through our parties we hope to engender a strong sense of community, tolerance, and inclusivity.
For our first event we are excited to welcome Glasgow resident Laurie Pitt. Laurie is an active member of Glasgow's thriving music community, having played drums in Golden Teacher (Optimo) and now a member of The Modern Institute (Night School). He is also a member of the Ghana Soundz DJ collective and has strong links to both Glasgow's Art School and Green Door Studio.
We are also excited to welcome Leeds resident Luce (Bath Time Sessions) to the turntables for an afternoon set before she hops off to join her Love Muscle compadres. Luce has both an ear and a passion for the experimental and her Bath Time Sessions radio shows on Leeds Student Radio and KMAH reflect her inquisitive and curious musical nature: "An exploration of ideas and composition through layering, experimenting with sound in its simplest form as well as tune selection that has an affect on our minds, in some way to help us focus and feel damn good, tense, and test emotions in all kinds of directions."
Wild Visions residents Boogie Monster and Matt Woodward are more commonly known for their respective nights Downtown Science and Release Yourself. Both hold a passion for disco, boogie, afrobeat, highlife, techno, house, no wave, post-punk, and anything wild and wonderful. .
