Genius started life in 2008 at the über-cool Russian Bar - Dalston. Playing the best in underground House/Techno upstairs, Leftfield Disco/Electro downstairs with top guests each month including Giles Smith, Spencer Parker, Severino, James Priestly, Kevin Griffiths and Tim Paris to name just a few. In a short period of time Genius has established itself as one to watch.
At present, Genius takes place at the Russian on the 1st Friday of the month and also from June every other weekend at Public life – Shoreditch with free parties on Sundays.
Forthcoming guests include; James Priestley (secretsundaze), Justin Drake (Peace Division), Cesar Merveille (Circus Company/Cadenza)
As with any successful night, the residents play a big part and Genius is no exception.
Luke Donington
For those in the know Luke Donington is the DJ to watch, having already been a successful DJ in the 90s under the alias Cool Hands Luke with. residencies in The Queen (Paris); Strawberry Sundaes; Fierce Child; Billion Dollar Babies; The Limelight.. Guest spots in Echoes (Italy); Boys Own parties; Ministry of Sound; Trade; Glitteratti; the Cross; Redlight Afterhours; Folies Pigalle (Paris); Astoria; Neighbourhood; Canvas; The Colosseum; Kinky Gerlinky; Velvet Underground; Milk Bar; Sin; Paradise Factory; Hacienda; Café de Paris; Heaven; The Egg; Tribal/Twisted Record parties mixing up house, techno, & minimal. This DJ is back, hotter than ever and ready to whip up the dancefloor.
Dynamic Brothers - Jitter
The Dynamic Brothers are originally from Belgium where they held successful parties at
Café d’Anvers (one of Belgium's biggest house clubs) and underground club Silo where they promote their succesfull night down_under. They moved to London in 2008 and in a short space of time have well and truly made a name for themselves. They have residencies at The Egg Club and Genius. Regularly asked to play in clubs and parties all over Belgium and London, they shared decks with the likes of Matthias Tanzmann, Martinez, Nick Curly, Chris Tietjen, Giles Smith, amongst many others. Known for their deep underground house style, they never forget the drive for the dancefloor. Watch this space!
