  • The festival returns to the Mayan Riviera to a new, very special location in Tulum to celebrate its third edition – the most special yet. Comunité will migrate its community and a very carefully curated assembly of 25+ Mexican, Latin American and International artists to an amazing paradise to gather in a pristine environment. Comunité explores different acoustic colors of Latin-America and other countries: this year Comunité focuses on a program based on alternative currents and the re-invention of traditional music forms. James Holden and The Animal Spirits team up for a new project which will have its Mexican debut for this special occasion. Neo-soul singer Dayme Arocena, Trax Records’ Mystic Bill and Alpha 606 represent the Cuban artist community at Comunité. Murcof, titan of the Mexican experimental scene will play a special set while Nicola Cruz will do the Neo-Andean fever. The line up gets completed with diverse artists such as Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith (Live), Romare (Live), Auntie Flo, Kuniyuki (Live), rRoxymore, Kalabrese, Clap! Clap!, Eris Drew, Olin and Funk E. National residents AAAA, Soul of Hex, Jonn and Uchi join the program with newcomers Itzone and Alexis Yasky culminating in a mixture of spiritual performances that blend aural experimentation with different genres on the dancefloor. More special performances and guests will be announced in the upcoming weeks. Cultural Exchange with Cuba Comunité initiates a yearly cultural exchange with Cuba as guest country this year in order to celebrate the recent aperture, the recollection of the island’s artistic roots and essence as well as the creation of stronger relations with Latin America through aural bridges. The festival will explore the artists’ backgrounds to highlight unknown electronic music by the Caribbean artists frontrunners and pioneers. Venue An immersive jungled ranch within Tulum, a tropical spring with 3 cenotes – the Lunar Stage by a mystical underground water chamber, the Solar Stage by a beach-like cove and a third freshly-inaugurated caved stage. It is believed that cenotes are the Mayan gates to the underworld in ancient mythology, which encompass the experience into the always present mysticism that pairs with Comunité’s musical manifesto. With a multiple-stage set up, the festival will integrate these cenotes as a primordial element of its identity. Social and Environmental Initiatives Once again Comunité is teaming up with Restore Coral, a local initiative which last year helped re-planting the coral reefs which are so vital to fight against climate change and preserve the oceans lively and its multiple ecosystems . Additionally to this ecological-driven effort, the festival addresses Mexico’s current emergency state around the devastating earthquake that happened in September by donating a percentage of the ticket sales to initiatives which provide housing to affected families in many states of central Mexico. Please note: The exact address will be revealed 2 weeks before the festival. For more information and exclusives sign up on our website: www.comunite.mx
