JACK THE HOUSE 8 showcases two of THE UNDERGROUND’s much loved DJs, ROB MILTON & YOUNG JASE.
When it comes to pioneers in the dance music scene you need to look no further than ROB MILTON. After starting the legendary and notorious DIRT BOX warehouse parties in London in ’86 and holding residencies at ELECTRIC BALLROOM, THE HACIENDA, HEAVEN, ASTORIA, THE WAG and MUD CLUB, Rob bought his invaluable knowledge of the UK’s burgeoning acid house scene to our local shores, starting Sydney’s first rave parties LOVE in 1988 with Sugar Ray. He went on to establish two of Sydney’s biggest house nights in Sydney in the 90’s with partners Mal & Michelle Russell, HIGH TIMES & DELICIOUS; both located at Sydney’s esteemed UNDERGROUND CAFÉ. Throughout the 90’s Rob’s wide-ranging house styles saw him play spots at FREEZER, SITE, SUGAREEF, CLUB 77 and SOHO/YU along with a string of single releases including international hit “Same Old Thing” by Loverush. This will be a rare opportunity to hear Rob hark back to the classics that started his illustrious career.
Then there’s YOUNG JASE - the DJ’s DJ. Best known for his stunning performances at the UNDERGROUND CAFÉ, LOVE, FLIM FLAM, ZOOM, SUBLIME, TANK, GLOBE, TWEEKIN’, BIG DAY OUT and SOUNDS ON SUNDAY, he can model a set in just about any genre you throw at him. For JACK THE HOUSE 8, Jase will be pulling out those house classics from 1988-1992 that bought a smile to your face with his trademark irrepressible groove. This is Jase’s first house gig in Sydney in a long time and we’re delighted to have him play at JACK THE HOUSE.
Also joining JACK THE HOUSE for the first time is MIKE KELLY, who blitzed Germany’s house scene after relocating there in the early 2000’s. Mike is back in Sydney and will be digging deep to pull out those gems from a golden age. He’ll be joined by team-mates JAYWALKER & LL eBAY for a special 2 hour b2b2b set to kick off the night.
We also welcome for his JTH debut, local favourite ANDREW WOWK from Bondi Beach Radio’s "Time To Track", CHINESE LAUNDRY and WELOVE. Wowky will round off the night with some classic Chicago House on a deeper tip.
As always, resident MARK DYNAMIX (THE LISTENING ROOM / ELECTRONIQUE) will bring his fine blend of acid house/hip-house to the mix.
