Evigt Mörker
When it comes to writing about the artists we bring to Corsica, we like to fill the studio with their music so we can reflect and remind ourselves why we connect so strongly to it - why it moves us, makes us feel alive, induces that can’t sit still feeling or brings about a meditative like state resulting in us staring into space with a gormless, half drunk look on our faces! As the sounds of Evigt Morker filled the studio airspace (one of three headliners to join us on 10th March), we instantly felt lighter - acknowledging but not giving in to to the underlying melancholy within much of his work and instead, locking into the captivating, wildly organic, rich with life spirit that breathes through his music. Oozing the sophistication and style characteristic of the Swedish techno the world has grown to love, there’s no surprising we’re hooked; yet Evigt’s personal take on things stands out for us, plus the man appears to love his grooves, and heck so do we! On top of this, much of his work includes ambience - such beautiful ambience - to the point that you feel like you’re in a conversation with the universe. It’s music such as his which inevitably forges a magnetic energy field to pull you in - energised with feeling - which we know will work absolute wonders for an On the 5th Day partaaay at Corsica…. Vibes vibes vibes through and through. Plus, we hear his gig at last year’s ADE was nothing short of astounding - and it’s only right we give London the opportunity to experience the same. Join us to hear Evigt in action for his first UK performance from 12:30 to 03:00.
Anthony Linell / Abdulla Rashim
The man behind some of the most talked about techno of recent times, Anthony Linell / Abdulla Rashim, will return for his third On the 5th Day his appearance. His first performance for us well over a year ago went down as one of the most influential moments in the evolution of our parties and still acts as a reference point for the type of vibes we are always hoping to achieve. From a DJ'ing perspective (his ever-evolving catalogue of unique and dynamic releases to one side for the moment), Abdulla is a total master and the control he maintains throughout his sets is second to none. With such ease and dedication, he continuously works the story he has to tell, steadily enticing out a continuous groove in the most restrained yet compelling of ways, whilst teasing in the wacky soundscapes, distorted emotion and deliriously crispy textures he is known for to ensure you are fully immersed .
Michal Jablonski
Michal Jablonski has been making some powerful waves on both the Polish and international techno scenes of late; waves formed of relentless energy, personality, punch and fearlessness - a pretty effective combo if you ask us! On the 10th of March he’ll be taking over room two to deliver a hybrid set and word on the street is that he has something pretty special in store for us! As an artist who has until recently focused on live performances mostly formed of entirely original productions, we’re super excited to hear how he jells together a hybrid set, ensuring the Jablonski flair everyone is coming to love so much is interwoven throughout, ready to fully engulf room two revellers. What Michal conveys in his sets is also communicated through a library of impressive productions, often with an industrial twist and heftier, mean underlying backbone, released on the likes of New Rhythmic Records, Circular Limited and Sonntag Morgan, to name but a few. As if being inspired by Michal’s musical prowess wasn’t enough, getting to know artists like him is another one of the beautiful perks of running these events and it’s an honour and a privilege to be handing over room two’s booth to him.
