Pye Corner Audio / Object Blue / Bambooman - Beatback - Leeds

  • Throughout its history Leeds Industrial Museum would have been soundtracked by the rhythms of industrial machinery, humming conversation and choirs of voices. The intention is to invite artists in leftfield/electronic music to perform in a space that you would never usually see them in. This will be a unique opportunity to celebrate the hustle and bustle of an age gone while experiencing the whirling electronic sounds and rhythms in an environment that has been so pivotal in the Industrial Age and home to such rich historic activity. Pye Corner Audio The UK synth wizard deals primarily in an eerie, eldritch strain of electronic music that aligns him firmly with such seasoned hauntologists as Mordant Music but there’s also a tough rhythmic edge to Jenkins’ material that triggers associations with cold wave synth-pop, early 80s horror soundtracks and even squelchy, Legowelt-style Chicago house pastiche. He has graced many of the world’s premier electronic festivals including Moogfest 2017. Object Blue Originally from Beijing/Tokyo and now based in London, Object Blue makes a mix of experimental and techno, often performing them live. Featured in 2018’s top 10 House & Techno acts to look out from a recent Fact Magazine feature. Bambooman Bambooman is known for producing experimental and often very textural beats. His recent album Whispers, released on Matthew Herbert's Accidental Recordings, drew widespread acclaim for its sonic explorations. He has collaborated with artist such as Jehst, Segilola & Strange U. His music is also championed constantly by Gilles Peterson.
