Berlin based John Osborn is the founder and creative director of DRED and TANSTAAFL RECORDS. John’s impressive productions again are of a very distinguished sound; all diverse, whether bouncy or more warped, they still contain his signature dark, deep, metallic resonating, dubby sound. You definitely hear his UK roots in there too: nuances of jungle, bass and experimental electronic music soaked up at warehouse parties from his youth. John Osborn has over the years been a reoccurring DJ at Berlin institutions such as Tresor, Cookies, Panorama Bar and the Sub:stance parties at Berghain, places where he has been able to sharpen and spread his sound.
He teams up with our Swedish resident Joel Alter aka Jor-El who is known for his solo work on Bass Culture and Sweatshop and two albums with Jonsson & Alter on Swedish Kontra-Musik. He is now living in Copenhagen and co-run True Rotary Recordings.
In Red Box we have the Danish deep house label Gartenhaus hosting the night. Main man Rasmus Juul have invited some of his good friends to join him behind the decks. With releases on labels like Selador and Power Plant we have Justin Massei, the Gartenhaus regular Rasmus Vels, the Copenhagen super-duo WaxWarriors and then of course Rasmus Juul himself.
