スカンジナビアのディスコシーンの未来を照らす存在であるといっても過言ではないTodd Terje。新アルバムの発表が待ち望まれる中、多彩なディスコグルーヴを引っ提げ再来日を果たす！
"Permanent Vacation"、"Running Back"、"Smalltown Supersound"といったレーベルからのリリースを通じて自らの制作を確立する一方で、DJとしての揺るぎない評価も同時に獲得し、セルフレーベルの"Olsen"を立ち上げるまでに至ったTodd Terjeだが、さらに広範なオーディエンスへ彼のサウンドを届けたのは、2014年の傑作アルバム「It's Album Time」を発表したときだ。リードシングル「Inspector Norse」や、フルバンドのThe Olsensを従えたリリースツアーでのライブは大きな話題を呼んだ。LindstrømやPrins Thomasといった同郷のアーティストとともに、Todd Terjeは従来のディスコスタイルを踏襲したサウンドにモダンなセンスと楽才を注入することで台頭を果たし、「ローリング・ストーンズ」誌の“世界に君臨する25人のDJ”に選ばれた存在であるだけに、この日もエッジの効いたポストパンク／ニューウェーブから、現代的なエレクトロニック・ハウス／ディスコに至るまで、色彩豊かなパーティーミュージックを期待したい。

Todd Terje can rightly be considered one of the leading lights of the Scandinavian disco scene. Anticipation is building for Terje’s new album, and now he’s bringing his innate gift for infectious disco grooves of all shapes and sizes to Contact.
While establishing himself via releases on Permanent Vacation, Running Back and Smalltown Supersound, he also earned a formidable reputation as a DJ and launched his own record label, Olsen. However it was the release of his critically acclaimed full-length, It’s Album Time, in 2014 that broke his music to an even greater audience. Lead single “Inspector Norse” and the accompanying live shows (with backing band The Olsens) garnered wider attention. Alongside peers such as Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas, Terje rose to prominence with the classic palette of disco while injecting modern flair and impeccable musicianship into the mix, which led him to an honour: he is chosen amongst “the 25 DJs That Rule the Earth” by Rolling Stone.
At this night, too, you can expect a rich tapestry of party music to be played, from edgy post punk and new wave styles through to contemporary electronic house and disco. Tejre will be supported by Disco Makapu’u, a new project from Hiroshi Kawanabe of Tokyo No.1 Soul Set and Jun "JxJx" Saito from Your Song Is Good.
