Len Leise & Salvador Ricardo a.k.a. GENERAL PURPOSE are the founders, DJ’s and producers on Melbourne based record label General Purpose (GP). The label was founded in 2016 when the two pals decided to transform what a record label should be. The label encourages production a little more left than the standard, promoting weird and wonderful, inspiring music while providing quality sound and a visual appeal.
In 2017, the two released their first production together ‘Blow in the Bag’ that showed their versatility and fascination with sounds. Their DJ sets are not far from their production skills, they are somewhere between 80-90’s house, industrial dance, synth-wave, italo, techno and leftfield afro/disco, an aesthetic difficult to categorize words.
