Graz is a DJ from many cities. His musical signature is impossible to define, sourcing from 20 years of collecting records and refining his craft. In his own words, “the world of music is rich and deep, and there is a voice that ties it all together.” Much of his work aims to channel this voice, combining and making sense of disparate references from music’s broad and colourful history.
Mulcahy took his first full-time job in a record store at the tender age of 15, which grew into an obsession with music. A growing understanding of artists, genres and eras laid the foundation for his lifelong research and ever-evolving craft as a composer, DJ and musical director.
In the 10 Years following 2002 he lived equal parts of the year in the US, Asia and Europe, DJ-ing at every discotheque worth mentioning while also holding his parallel career as a designer and composer. He has worked with brands such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton and created music for shows at the New York, Milan and Paris Fashion weeks. Few creatives are embedded in so many countries, or across such a multitude of creative disciplines and cultures.
Now settled in Hanoi, Vietnam where he co-founded the iconic music venue Savage that has hosted artists such as Roman Flugal, John Talabot, Tim Sweeney and a selection of local and regional talents. His Podcast and club night “Color” is now a magnet and emblem for the cultural and musical impression at the club and throughout Asia.
In recent years Graz has been broadcast on Boiler Room, performed his original film scores at the Palais de Tokyo (Paris) and Guggenheim (NYC) and played at Love International with Multi Culti, Spotlight Los Angeles, La Dame Noir Marseille, Silencio Paris & Scorpio’s Mykonos and continues to play throughout Asia.
With such a diverse and multifaceted career spanning many years and continents, Graz has the unique ability to create a perfect musical environment for any occasion. His background and skill come together in every set he plays, resulting in an inimitable voice.
