Heading into Winter, Mad Racket is back with a debut Sydney set by one of the true purveyors of the deep, Aybee.
Originally hailing from Oakland, California, Aybee was blessed with a musical upbringing, exposed to jazz by his New Orleans-based grandmother and disco through his uncle, who ran a small disco label, Armour, for a brief period in the late 70's. In the early 2000's, Aybee started exploring his own take on these influences. His own productions range from downbeat to house to techno, with a constant thread of deepness, experimentation and connection to roots running through. In 2001 Aybee launched Deepblak Recordings as his outlet, and soon after gained the attention of the widely respected Ron Trent. That led to co-productions and setting up a sub-label to Prescription (Future Vision). As well as running his own label, Aybee has released on other labels including Ibadan, Soul Jazz and Underground Quality, and now bases himself in Berlin. We can't wait to get down and deep!!
Also playing platters will be Racketeers Ken Cloud, Jimmi James, Zootie and Simon Caldwell. We will create a Winter Wonderland for your ears and eyes, with full Bowl-O-Sonic audio, carefully designed decorations, and a social smoking area greenside.
