Life Changing, Probably #3

  • Nastia Nastia had an unusual beginning. She herself declares that she doesn’t come from a musical family, and didn’t have any contact with musical instruments as a kid – as is so commonplace in so many artist biographies. From her small village in Ukraine she moved to Donetsk, finished college and became a dancer at a local club. It was there she realized her life would be on the DJ booth – with Music! She prides herself in not focusing her career on making music, instead focusing mostly on playing other artists’ music, something that is increasingly rare. Nastia is a success case whose connection to various projects throughout her career demonstrates a strong will to keep moving forward. She mixes House and Techno effortlessly with a unique and fun cadence, joining different rhythms and styles inside a big melting pot of influences. While not her debut in Lisbon, it’ll be her debut at Lux’s main floor. All together, all ready for Nastia! Paranoid London dj set With them there’s no downloads, no CD releases, no self-promotion. Paranoid London prefer to let the music talk by itself, in the most real way. They’ve been here before as a live act that surely made some permanent memories in the minds of all those who were so lucky as to attend. This is glorious comeback, covered in the acidness Paranoid London let go from every pore. And this time they’re coming as DJs. For this night, they’re leaving behind the drum machines and arming themselves with CDJs ready to mix music from others and themselves, music ready to power the true acid thunder of the London duo, with true rave ideals and, with absolutely no mercy, making us dance with that unique groove. Smoke, strobelights, and furious dancing – Lux is gonna sweat! Mister Saturday Night Everyone knows Saturday Night is Lord. And also the Queen of nights out. There everyone meets, people we think are special and those who don't seem so special. All together. Mister Saturday Night is a regular party in New York (doubling as Mister Sunday on certain Sunday afternoons). Eamon Harkin is one of the founders, Justin Carter being the other head. They're also resident DJs in these parties and Eamon is coming not so much to show everyone how it's done (that's not the attitude he projects) but merely to share music he believes makes all the difference and carries the necessary magic to unite different people. Reading about Mister Saturday Night's mission and rules, we instantly absorb a sense of responsibility. Don't get it wrong, having fun is still THE goal, but people are asked to nurture a notion of respect and an instinctive awareness of others and their own space. OK, it's going to happen on a Friday. So what? Bring comfortable clothes.
