➤ CEE (Monkeytown Records - DE / MY)
Like Moderat / MODESELEKTOR (OFFICIAL SITE) / Apparat ? This one is from the same family :)
Jungle dweller, producer, DJ and all around maverick - Cee has been in the game for over two decades, involved with the likes of Missy Elliott, Dorian Concept, TOKiMONSTA and probably your uncle. The maestro helped shape global bass music in the early 2000s, before his move from Vienna to Kuala Lumpur. Cee now creates his magic out of a self-constructed studio “in the heart of the jungle”, right outside of the Berembun rainforest, in Malaysia.
If you’re about to see this brothaman play live or DJ, expect something soulful, deep, layered, bass heavy, dub inflected. Like the flavours of a Southeast Asian salad, expect the unexpected.
➤ ARRIO [LIVE] - (Double Deer / INDO)
Arrio is testament to Indonesia’s dynamic electronica scene, dropping sublime and versatile aesthetics in his tracks. The definitive depth of field that Arrio explores on his compositions cements his role as one of Indonesia’s prolific electronic music producers. Also, he's a co-founder of Double Deer Records, Indonesia's leading label for alternative talent. We would say he has the X factor, but he's a little to shy for that.
➤ DOTT - (More Rice / Manjumasi / TH)
A Bangkok institution, DOTT has emerged as a super-kid of Thailand's underground electronic production and DJ scene. Using his bass guitar and acid jazz background to influence his productions, he has developed a unique sound filled with groovy basslines and trippy melodies. Approvals from the likes of Roman Flügel have not gone to this humble talent's head, and his unconditional willingness to support the scene is a breath of fresh air. (Just kidding, there is no fresh air in Bangkok.)
➤ HARVY - (Double Deer / INDO)
Co- founder of Double Deer Records, Harvy's musical taste was shaped primarily from the disco era to underground house and techno music. A Jakarta based DJ & producer, he first came on to the scene in early 2007. However, as tastes have shifted and scenes have fragmented, Harvy’s approach to the music itself has developed. Developed into what? Never try, never know.
➤ Bang Sue Electrix [LIVE] (TH)
The filthiest rap battles in the Bronx would be home to the kind of flow the lady half of BSE packs. This electro/rap duo is one of the most exciting, refreshing acts to emerge recently from the sois of Bangkok and we are stoked to have them on board. (Also, these guys may just be the most badass of the bunch.)
