Influenced by the labels at the forefront of techno, from Polegroup to Token, VAULT carries you through an event series which comes alive with an unexpected, rare, and evolving soundscape, fiercely charged with a continuum of raw sounds, into the darkest and obscurest realm of the electronic underground.
D_Know :
25-year-old South African Electronic producer D_Know has an undying passion for global music culture. Whether it is producing, DJing or writing, his dedication to the arts is ever growing.
Having been named in the Top 5 of MyCityByNight’s Top Electronic Acts Under 25 Chart in May 2017, D_Know has since gone from strength to strength this year.
From a headline slot at Rocking The Daisies, to hosting Knowledge Recording nights with Berghain resident DVS1 joining him on the decks, to various gigs and festivals in and around South Africa it is clear his reputation has grown leaps and bounds.
A heavy release schedule on his own label has added to other releases on Ground Factory, Shaping Music and the forthcoming compilation on Do Work Records.
Previous releases on S-File’s GND Records, Italian label ARTS Records, the UK’s East Recordings, Australian label Translucent, Swiss label !Organsim, Teknotribe and the aforementioned Do Work Records have all led to D_Know’s profile rising substantially both in South Africa and abroad.
Support from the likes of Sam Paganini, Joseph Capriati, Niereich, Unbalance, Paco Osuna, Turbo Turbo, S-File, Cari Lekebusch, Skober and Heron has also contributed to his progression.
“In terms of releases, I’m really proud to have had material come out on two of my favourite techno labels in GND and ARTS. Both played a big role in the development of my sound over the years. I’m also very happy to be connected to some great labels in the UK & Europe which is opening up new doors too!”
At the same time he has been honing his writing skills writing reports on Dekmantel and Loveland in Amsterdam and CTEMF in Cape Town, and is now a writer for Soundspace in the UK.
As a DJ he is resident at Overtime and Vault and also a firm favourtie at clubs and parties such as Fiction, Mødular, Era, ToyToy and Spilt Milk. D_Know is one of the most in demand DJs in the Techno scene in South Africa and can often be seen mixing up his deck skills with live use of drum machines and effects.
He has appeared on South African national station 5FM, Radio FM4 in Austria, and other stations on a worldwide basis.

In Austria I had the opportunity to play my first international gig and had a feature on their national radio station, which was a great privilege! I felt nothing but support from those around me, and I am excited to see what the future holds.”

Producing Techno and all elements of the Genre exploring into experimental and electronic sounds . Unorthodoxically taking the journey that all together speaks for the Underground Techno Scene as a global sound .
Jon Kluti is from Afriq de Sud (South Africa) and grew as an artist by listening to all sorts of electronic sounds as well as natural sounds provided by the earth . The atmospheric side of the genre takes his mind completely away from the criterion that’s provided in other genres of music he explored, before reaching the point of interest in Techno.
This is a foreign genre to South Africa’s electronic scene with regards to the Underground in which he explores. Hard , Strange and Irrelevant vibrations with Noise would be the explanatory of sound he emits through his blaring productions. Jon Never released any music on a Record Label but has his private productions in his bedroom. The Industrial sound is the preference of this artist .
Faretrade :
An American Scientist, producer and Dj Currently located in Cape Town.
Faretrade focuses largely on Acid, dub and ambient techno, skewing towards more experimental soundscapes and some noise.
Tyler explores the deeper, darker side of underground electronic music, concentrating on the balance between free experimentation and maintaining an energetic dance floor.
A talented multi-instrumentalist, his early forays into music were via jazz and experimental rock bands. These early experiences and influences permeate the electronic music he produces and plays today.
He also produces/DJs under the aliases Hieronymus Machine and Øtalog.
