Double Clapperz are the beating hearts of the Tokyo Grime scene. Their unwavering dedication to the craft since their inception in 2012 has seen them foster a scene that has developed its own sound and aesthetic beyond mere imitation. The duo mix traditional Grime with influences from their native Japan but defy easy categorisation.
In their own words: “it’s not just grime but a mixture of everything these days”. These are the guys that the likes of Elijah & Skilliam and P-Money call family when they are in Japan.
ONJUICY (Tokyo: LONDON DEBUT)
A lot of grime vocalists in Asia are rappers first and foremost: Onjuicy is the rare exception. Having only discovered Grime recently, he fanatically studied the craft until he was ready to set foot in Tokyo’s Grime scene. A couple of years later, he’s flying the flag as the scene’s most prominent MC, holding down mic duties for the likes of Royal-T, Preditah and Tokyo's Trekkie Trax.
LAST JAPAN (Circadian Rhythms / Coyote Records)
“My sound is raw, gritty, atmospheric grime.” Last Japan’s music has the g-force of an astronaut breaking through the stratosphere.
He’s been on this Grime thing for a minute. Sticking steadfast through its various stages, he’s worked with foundational members of the scene like Trim, Killa P and Rapid and lent his production skills to the new school, including the likes of AJ Tracey. His monthly show on NTS, Circadian Rhythms, is our go-to for discovering the most exiting sounds of the hardcore continuum.

Co-founder of Yeti out and Silk Road Sounds (Record Label), Eri has been bridging the sounds the of the Far East in London. From Club and Bass Music to Wavey House, UKG, and Funky, Eri's unique sound direction garnered him bookings in LA, Shanghai, Istanbul and around the globe.
