And we are back! Back with another one of those block rockin' beats… and with a new venue, closer into town. This time we’re at Cell 200, which has a Funktion 1 sound system and which is part of the Egg complex of venues - its front door is right beside Egg’s front door. This means the event is licensed until 8am, so there will be MORE music.
So, down to business, heading up the lineup for this our 5th UK event, is Brian Cid (Endangered, Get Physical, Cityfox) coming all the way from Brooklyn in New York and making his UK debut with Progressive Astronaut. He is a man with a pretty extraordinary CV, he spent 10 years as an audio engineer working with the biggest names in Hip Hop, for people like Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg and Mos Def and then, having honed his production skills, he decided to tap into his love of club culture and enter the world of house music. Since then, Brian’s original productions have been released on labels such as Guy J’s Lost & Found, Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound, Manjumasi, Get Physical, microCastle, Cityfox & more and he is in demand across the globe as a performer.
Next on the lineup is Modern Agenda label boss Amber Long from Toronto in Canada, who is also making her UK debut. Having pledged at the beginning of 2017 to have at least one woman on every lineup for our UK events, we’re very proud to have one of the most eminent women in the global progressive house scene come and play for us.
If you’ve listened to Rogue, her monthly show on Frisky Radio, you’ll know she has a trademark heavy, chunky sound to her mixes - you can hear the love of techno infusing her work. When Amber enters beast mode, you better be ready! As a DJ she is passionate and animated, demonstrative of someone who loves their work intensely and tears up dance floors across the world. As a producer / vocalist her work has been released on such labels as Bedrock, Modern Agenda, Bedrock, Global Underground, Sudbeat and Einmusika.
Next up on this all star lineup is Ian Dillon (Pro B Tech, Global Underground, Balance Music, Sudbeat, Asymmetric, Modern Agenda). Ian is a UK based DJ, producer and remixer who’s approach to DJing has been influenced by the Global Underground series of recordings and particularly the work of the Sasha & John Digweed. Ian’s style fuses dark driving basslines with ethereal melodies and atmospheric ambience. As a DJ, Ian has played events alongside John Digweed, Guy J, Dave Seaman Darren Emerson and many more, both In the UK & abroad. His productions and remixes have gathered support from many industry heavy weights, including Hernan Cattaneo, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, Jimmy Van M, Cid Inc and John OO Fleming.
And completing the lineup it’s none other than Warren Mooney from Twisted Audio! If like us, you have had the time of your life at every Twisted Audio boat party on the river Thames, you know how much it means to have Warren on board. As I write this, I’m feeling quite emotional, because I know I will be visiting the final Twisted Audio boat party today, on a boiling hot summer day in the big smoke and I’m so sad it’s the last one. It almost breaks my heart. But, we’re trying not to be sad here (sniff, sniff), because Warren, who plays at every Twisted Audio gig is coming to play for us, so the legacy lives on.
