To celebrate the opening of our new gallery space ‘Paleisstraat 107’ in the middle of the beating heart of Amsterdam, PK8 STUDIO will host a special ADE playground event on Wednesday the 17th of October!
This one-off event will be your chance to learn some new music production skills from two of the best Ableton LIVE experts around and to experience the MAX for LIVE and Resolume VJ software powered interactive audiovisual art installation ‘Opening up the Space for Immersion’.
In the first part of the evening Cenk Unis, founder of the Amsterdam and Istanbul based 'UNIS ACADEMY' will guide you through the world of audio sampling by creating a track on the flow incorporating both Ableton PUSH and live analog instruments.
The second part of the evening will be hosted by Camiel Daamen, founder of DJ and music production school ‘LESSONS IN LIVE’. Camiel will showcase his live setup and explain how to create your own live-set. You will learn to transform your tracks into clips and loops ready to go live with FX and mapping techniques or using different controllers. He will show the improvisation part of his live setup by doing a little jam session using his MacBook Pro, Akai APC 40, Ableton Push, TR8 and Novation Ultranova.
After the masterclass there will be space and time to have a drink and talk with the trainers & artists and to experience the interactive audiovisual art installation ‘Opening up the Space for Immersion’ by Wouter Smit.
‘Opening up the Space for Immersion’ is nominated for the ‘MEDIA ART FESTIVAL Young Masters Award 2018’ and will be showcased exclusively during this ADE playground event.
