Berlin's Force Field is extremely honored to be presenting our first night overseas at Kraków's Święta Krowa - "Holy Cow".
For FF's maiden adventure in Poland we have gathered a fine crew of selectors: Lou Drago, madikoptah and the artist formerly known as Beastie Respond. The three will play alongside FF residents RO Zar + Misantrop (Foul-Up, Glass Knot).
You can expect absolutely anything for this one - from ambient to hard drum, footwork to grime + far, far beyond.
FKA BEASTIE RESPOND
(The artist formerly known as) Beastie Respond's latest album landed on Foul-Up in 2017. "information City" fused footwork, breaks, electro, grime, synthwave and beyond into a style uniquely his own. Whether as an artist or DJ, Beastie Respond always uses every crayon in the box, and we are highly excited to present one of our all-time favorite DJs.
Having recently announced the retirement of the moniker, this could very well be the last chance to hear Beastie Respond in his current incarnation.
LOU DRAGO
Perpetually obsessed with proving the futility of binaries, Lou Drago is drawn to the spaces between analogue and synthesised sounds. In their sets Lou Drago aims to provide a space for contemplation and introspection, offering a pause from the anxiety of neoliberalism through ambient, strange and relaxing sounds. They aim to summon imagery of speculative queer and postgendered futurities through evoking sci-fi, space, drone and ambience. Drago hosts a monthly show on Cashmere Radio based in Berlin called TRANSIENCE, each time inviting a different artist to respond to their concept to create an hour of anxiety relief from hetero-patriarchial systems of oppression.
For Force Field, Lou will present an excerpt of "Suspending Time: Meditations for accessing space/time in music", a 19-hour piece conceived initially for Welt ohne Aussen at Gropius Bau, Berlin in 2018.
MADIKOPTAH
Magda Staniszewska is a journalist and music activist currently living in Warsaw. As madikoptah she serves groovy, bass heavy selections of future beats, hard drum and everything that makes her bounce. She’s associated with regime brigade, a collective of passionate young creatives based in Wrocław.
FORCE FIELD
Force Field is an event venture gathering the sonic perspectives of selectors RO Zar and Misantrop.
Anything goes—it's a vibrant melting pot of divergent sounds and disparate tempos, orbiting around bass diasporas, off-kilter riddims, the hardcore continuum, a spectrum of euphoria, modern angularity, oddball gems, and further filth. Cheeky fun for the dancers who like to be kept on their toes.
