Individual Collective x Downwards 25 Years

  • Individual Collective is back and celebrating the last stop and somewhat homecoming event of the Downwards Records 25th anniversary tour. Born in 1993, Downwards was launched from the gritty industrial heartland of Birmingham. In doing so, founder Karl O’Connor AKA Regis, crystallised a definitive direction beyond the confines of the 90’s electronic music scene and the definition of ‘Techno’. On the night, we will present the first ever ‘CUB’ show, which will see Regis collaborating with former Kryptic Minds producer and one of the most recent additions to the Downwards roster, Simon Shreeve. Also playing live will be fellow brummy and ex-Napalm Death member, Mick Harris, who recently resurrected his Fret alias. Having been there since the early days of Downwards back in 1993, we look forward to welcoming Mick back to Corsica Studios. Sam Kerridge also returns to Individual Collective with one of his genre defying DJ sets. Sam recently released ‘The I is Nothing’ through Downwards, which explores the blurred border between techno, experimental and straight up lunacy. We will also be joined by one of the most respected DJ’s and selectors…period! DJ Pete is also celebrating somewhat of a milestone in his career, which now spans 30+ years. Whether it’s part of ‘Scion’ with Rene Lowe or as TR-101 with Sleeparchive, Pete has gone on to produce some of the most important records in modern electronic music. Having joined the infamous ‘Hardwax’ back in 1991, he has accumulated an encyclopedic knowledge of music and his DJ sets are a true testament to this. Simon Shreeve will also DJ on the night where he will explore the fringes of his many influences and the space between his many projects, specifically the ‘Monic’ alias. Simon made his debut on Downwards back in 2016 and although a fairly new addition to the roster, his music feels right at home on the label. Support on the night comes from residents Billy Allen and Keylen.
