This month sees an extra special Filth go down in Birmingham because, as well as the usual frivolities, there’s an album launch to get excited about courtesy of fresh talent Riva Starr, and boy do the Filth crowd like it fresh….
Having jostled his way to the top of the tech house production pile since last year, with release after release of top notch sounds on top notch labels like Dirtybird, Southern Fried and Kindisch, Riva Starr is shaking things up. From his cheekily deployed drum edits and effects, to the little twists and tweaks that will cause large-scale damage to a dance floor, tonight you’ll get a live example of why his album will be such a hit. Since releasing ‘Thizzle'/'China Gum' for Jesse Rose's Frontroom Recordings which smashed it at the time, he’s gone from strength to strength and has had numerous Beatport hits as a result.
The wild productions and crazy antics of Aspin & Dipace will also go down a storm tonight, dropping as they do their own productions and remixes on labels like Cr2, Venga Digital and more. Solid support comes from the residents who’ll use their know how to warm the clubbers to perfection.
Offering a quality night of underground electronica, Filth go their own way in Brum as they did in Leeds and Ibiza before then.
