Responsible for the production behind many classic UK Hardcore records since the early 90's, Ron's style is said to be instantly recognisable. Often credited as the pioneer of Jungle Techno, Ron has produced over 300 dance records, most of which embody an electronic, ambient techno signature - drawing influences from early UK and US rave culture.
DJing across London’s pirate radio channels since he was 17, in 1987 Ron formed Wax Factory Productions, to concentrate on forming the Jungle Techno sound he’s best known for. Key artists on the label were Smooth But Hazzardous, Hedgehog Affair and Jack Smooth. '91 to '94 saw him produce and co-write releases 3-35 on Basement Records, including #6 hit 'Trip to Trumpton' with Urban Hype. Still a master at work in the studio, Ron's continued to purvey his love for all things analog with a string of excellent releases under his Ron Wells moniker.
