近年、世界中のフェスティバルやアンダーグランドなパーティーで、大きな潮流となりつつある「スローテクノ」や「デザートテクノ」にスポットを当てた新しいパーティー「KAVE_(ケイブ)」がスタートする。
記念すべき第一回目には、ブラジル・サンパウロを中心に活動するアートコレクティブ『voodoohop_(ブードゥーホップ)』と近しく活動する、「M.RUX_(エム・ラックス)」と「Martha Van Straaten_(マーサ ハン シュトラテン)」。2000年代初頭に活動を開始し、近年ではBurningman_(バーニングマン)でも圧倒的な存在感を放つアートカープロジェクト『Mayan Warriors_(マヤ・ウォリアーズ)』等に出演している、ベテラン女性DJ「Chloé_(クロエ)」。日本からは、ベトナムはホーチーミンにあるクラブ「The Observatory_(ザ・オブザバートリー)」のレジデントとしても活躍中の「SHHHHH_(シー)」が登場する。
今回ライブセットでの参加となる、ベルリンを拠点に活動するDJ/プロデューサーM.RUXは、様々な民族音楽からピック・アップしたサウンド・マテリアルとスローテクノの融合が注目を集めている。インダストリアルなドラム音色で土着的なパターンを組み、その上でシャーマン的な音の破片をコントローラーで自由自在に操るライブセットは、聴く者の音響感覚を揺さぶり、大きな存在感を放つ。
また、M.RUX同様にベルリンから登場するMartha van Straatenは、そのカッティングエッジなMIXが大きな注目を集め、2018年のWonderfruit_(ワンダーフルーツ)においても、「Polygon Stage_(ポリゴンステージ)」のヘッドライナーとして登場した新星だ。そのミックスは、スローなBPMをキープしつつもダンサブルでストーリー性が高い。まるで地球上空を軽やかにフライトする様に、音楽風景をユニークに操るDJだ。
そして、その二人からバトンを受け取るのがChloéだ。最初のEP盤「Erosoft」を2002年に発表以降、自身のレーベル「Lumière Noire」を中心に、数々の質の高い作品を「BPitch Control」、「Live at Robert Johnson」、「Kill the D」といった名門レーベルから発表し続けている。近年では、よりスローでエモーショナルな作品を発表しており、新たな音楽風景を開拓し続けている。ベテランお手腕で、スローテクノから、ダンサブルなデザートテクノまでを一本の線で結んでくれるだろう。

KAVE is a new party that puts the spotlight onto "slow techno" and "desert techno", which are big trends recently in the world's festivals and underground parties.
The monumental first party will feature "MR.RUX" and "Martha Van Straaten" who are very close friends of "Vooodoohop" crew, an art collective actives in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The veteran female DJ, "Chloé", who began DJing at the beginning of the 2000's, and has performed in the art project "Mayan Warriors" with an overwhelming sense of presence in Burningman. "SHHHHH" from Japan, a resident in "The Observatory", a club in Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam, will also participate.
M.RUX, a DJ/producer who works from Berlin has garnered attention for his sound material that fuses a variety of folk music and slow techno. His live sets have a great sense of presence that changes the acoustic sensibilities of listeners, and creates an indigenous pattern with the tone of industrial drums and bits of shaman-esque sound added with through the controller.
Martha van Straaten is a new star that, like M.RUX, comes from Berlin, and has garnered much attention for her cutting edge mixes; she performed during Wonderfruit in 2018, where she was headliner for "Polygon Stage". Her mixes maintain a slow BPM, all the while being danceable, and containing a story line. She is a DJ with a unique musical style, reminiscent of flying through the sky.
And it's Chloé who will take over from the pair. Ever since she announced her first EP record "Erosoft", she has continued to produce new, high quality work through her own label, "Lumière Noire", as well as famous labels like "BPitch Control", "BPitch Control", and "Kill the DJ”. More recently, she has been announcing slower and more emotional pieces, and continues to develop new musical landscapes. With her veteran skills, she will weave slow techno and danceable desert techno carefully.
