After having the pleasure of hearing Deep House Project label boss, Mike Acetate, play at The Red [BOX] last January as well as the label release great tracks from some brilliant local artist we’re found to join forces and bring you; Shrug presents DEEP HOUSE PROJECT label night.
The line up gives you the cream of Sydney’s Deep, Tech & Underground house artists, Including; Mike Acetate, Telefunken, DJ Trinity, Venuto, Robbie Lowe & Dave Stuart.

MIKE ACETATE - Deep House Project. With a career spanning more than 17 years, Mike Acetate has built himself a solid reputation as a DJ and quality deep and Tech House Producer.
As previously mentioned the last time I caught Mike play was in January 2009 and was one of the best ‘house’ sets that I’ve heard in a long time, Mike isnt one of those DJs that play week in week out aroudn Sydney so expect something special.
Heading up the San Francisco Deep House Project with long time friend and business partner Carlos Gibbs, together they have released countless tracks through DHP and had tracks featured on labels and compilations such as Tom Middleton’s recent Renaissance, Freerange, Hemmesphere and many more.
Artists such as Jimpster, Roy Davis Jr, Milton Jackson, Spettro, and Shur-I-Kan are all lending their talents to DHP. With names like that it’s clear to see why mike has cemented a solid foundation for himself in the dance music community.

TELEFUNKEN - is Tim Boffa and Cam Adams, in my mind one of the best DJ pairings that Australia has produced. The two lads have been killing it lately, especially with the on point set’s they’ve been playing at The Likes of You & Spice. It’s great that we’re able to have the guys on to play a peak time set that I’m sure will still stay true to their deeper take on tech-house.
The telefunken duo teamed up in 2005 after playing a gig together at the Slip Inn. Since then they have played at pretty much every underground party in Sydney on more than one occasion, as well as being booked to play gigs in San Francisco, Japan, Fiji, Nu Caledonia and closer to home in Melbourne, Brisbane, Noosa, Newcastle, Jindabyne, Wollongong and more.
To date, Telefunken have supported the likes Tiga, Teifschwarz, Dave Spoon, Jona, DJ T, Nic Fanciulli, James Zabiela, Audiofly, Jo Mills, Tocca Disco, Ben Watt, Clive Henry, Hipp-e, Spencer Parker, Joachim Gerraud, Mike Monday, Tayo, Deadmou5, James Lavelle (Uncle), Who Made Who, Sharam (Deep Dish) Trentemoler and many more

DJ TRINITY – Trinity probably doesn’t need much introduction to the Shrug regulars, but with the realese of her joint proect track with beyond [DHP017] Trinity & Beyond – Baker Shot that has just been released by DEEP HOUSE PROJECT on Beatport we proud to have her back to celebrate and treat you all with one of her deeper than deep mind bending closing sets.

The release features the Orig and two remixes;
Original mix - Trinity & Beyond’s mix to be put simply, is Minimal Techy Grooves at their finest. Perfect for 3am in a dark room somewhere in the middle of the city, Baker Shot combines a funky bassline with clean crisp kicks and claps.
Jimi Polar’s remix - takes Baker Shot in to space with a Cosmic Disco take on the original. Broken beats with abstract keys and synths, combine to give you the perfect tune in any nu-disco set or for breaking up a house set. A must have for the back room or warming up any crowd.
Uone - has given Baker Shot a quality deep house spin, combining the bassline from the original with muted horns and percussive sounds. The Uone mix is deep and funky. One to pull out at any time of the night to keep the dance floor grooving.

VENUTO - Venuto has held down residencies at clubs such as: LadyLux, Spice, onelove and the world renowned Home Night Club. Not happy with just being a stable fixture of the Sydney scene, in 2008 Venuto conquered Ibiza and became one of the few Australians to play at Amnesia (regarded as one of the best clubs in the world). He also had regular guest spots at: Es Vive, Ittica and Es Paradis. Recently Venuto turned his love for house music to the studio. He gained instant success with his deep rhythms getting the attention of international and local labels including: Muzik X Press, Minimo Records, Soulman Music, South American House, Rhythm Selector, onelove and Vicious. This was backed up by remixes for some world-class artists such as: Ben Macklin, Jason Herd, Roland Clark, Javi Mula and recently Miguel Migs. Venuto shows his deeper side with his ‘So I Breathe’ EP on Deep House Project.
