  • Dynopenguin 12hr Easter Sunday Party @ The Jago (Formally Passing Clouds) Bank Holiday 21st April, 6pm-6am, London, E8 DJs . Bands . 2 Rooms of Music Tickets: £8 pre-8pm / £10 pre-10pm / £12 anytime (£15 OTD) Formally Passing Clouds, Dalston’s favourite progressive Live music venue reopens it’s doors this month as The Jago, and we’re on hand to deliver a Bank Holiday Party of epic proportions spread across both floors of this now legendary East London venue. Joining us for our 12hr day-night Easter Sunday special is none other than Ibiza legend and Father of the Balearic Beat, ALFREDO. As undisputed godfather of the Balearic scene, Alfredo is the man who can make jazz, new age or rock & roll all make sense in the club. He can make you sweat it out in a darkened club or make you shiver in the sun. He’s an icon of dance culture, a father of Balearic beat, and an ever-unpredictable DJ who never fails to impress. Arriving in Ibiza in 1976 from his native Argentina, he set about laying down the blueprint of the Balearic sound, which still resonates on the White Isle today. Playing seven hours a night, six nights a week, whilst holding key residences at legendary clubs like Amnesia, Pacha and Space, he helped popularise the first Chicago house and Detroit techno records and was the key inspiration for the UK’s emerging acid scene. His eclectic DJ sets call on all forms of disco, dub and afro, pop, soul and jazz, classical and contemporary house, as well as plenty of obscure Balearic gems old & new. Joining Alfredo in the club is one of London’s house music rising stars, REVIVIS. Strong releases on Beste Freunde, Ewax, Druzhba, and most recently esteemed German imprint We_R House has seen Revivis relocate his talents to Berlin where his stock continues to rise. LØREN, of East London party starters M.O.B (Moment of Bliss) fame, returns for his second stint on the Dyno decks, alongside Elevator East’s resident spinner turned producer SIBSON. Manchester duo KEROUAC & SMILE bring their signature deep house sound to the capital once more, whilst Dynopenguin residents David Goodchild, Tom Hamp, Dave Harbour, Tom Buxton, Oli Everitt, Thomas Aky and Danny Raper are on hand to spin their favourite groovers. LIVE performances taking place in The Jago’s beautiful upstairs space which offers charming views of historic East London, come from London based artist Shunaji, Oxford's Dream In A Teacup, and Nottingham's Sushili Porkward, with more TBC. SHUNAJI is a beatmaker, MC and lyricist. Backed by Gilles Peterson and the Brownswood Music ethos, her music is inspired by a wide array of genres such as abstract hip hop, trip hop, lo-fi and synthwave. Partly jazz and partly soul, her sound is driven by a love for rap music and hip-hop culture, both of which fuel her perpetually bewitching songwriting. Shunaji performs for us this Bank Holiday with her full band in tow, not to be missed! In support we invite newly formed Oxford based esoteric folk trio DREAM IN A TEACUP to bring their atmospheric electronica to Dalston for the first time, and Nottingham based Jazz Funk trio SUSHILY PORKWARD complete a 5-star Bank Holiday Live line-up that will keep the party vibes flowing into the early hours of Monday morning. Happy Easter! x Tickets: bit.do/dynoeaster Address: The Jago (formally Passing Clouds), 440 Kingsland Road, E8 4AA
