With summer in full swing, we bring a superb disco lineup to The POW on 20 July. Heading things up is Dr Packer
Dr Packer has quickly become a mainstay in the sets of some of the biggest names in the disco world with the likes of Dimitri From Paris, Greg Wilson and Joey Negro regularly featuring his edits in their sets. The SalSoul, Defected, Glitterbox favourite ended 2018 as No.1 artist on the Traxsource Nu Disco / Indie Dance charts for the second year in a row.
Greg Wilson selected 6 of Packer’s edits to feature in his choice reworks of 2017, and fast forward a few months and he released his long awaited full-length album 'Different Strokes' on Glitterbox Recordings, with six brand new mixes alongside twelve of his rare cuts and well-loved treasures. Disco and House classics all receiving his golden touch.
Nile Rodgers is a fan. Kid Creole is a fan. Disclosure, Jazzy Jeff, and Joris Voorn are all fans. From house music royalty, Joey Negro, Dimitri from Paris and Mousse T, to the original DJ – remix pioneers Greg Wilson, Danny Krivit and Nicky Siano, all the way to Aeroplane, DJ Marky, Eats Everything, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Horse Meat Disco, J.Rocc, Nic Fanciulli, Jazzie B, Cut Killer, Rainer Truby, Acid Arab, Nightmares on Wax… They are all fans of The Reflex.
Fascinated by the remix from an early age, London-based French native Nicolas Laugier, aka The Reflex, takes his cue from the first wave of disco remixers by using only the original sounds from the master tapes (or stems) to breathe new life into soul, pop and disco classics. Imaginative arrangements, boxfresh sonics and intricate editing make The Reflex Revisions rocket fuel for every DJ set.
Pablo Contraband celebrates 10 years of Disco Deviant, his long running and much loved Brighton party, which has spawned both a record label and The Unity Agency, which has gone on to become a successful international booking agency.
Triple Cooked Residents warm up the rooftop, Raw Silk, MOVE DJs, Chris Wheatley & Pandadontdisco support and the Hotel Room is hosted by Red Light Collective with DJs Ra & Alex Herr
