M.i.p.V turns 15 in 2019!
We start the celebrations of 15 years of Músicas intermináveis para Viagem (aka M.i.p.V) with a concert, videoclip release and special guests, among them the duo Unicorn Partisans, that does its premiere in Berlin!
The guitarist and band founder LauraL, a Brazilian artist and musician in Berlin based, will play whit collaborators of the M.i.p.V, featuring:
Ignatz Bee (M.i.p.V Pocket, Rudolf), Scheng Fou (Guts Pie Earshot, Unicorn Partisans) and Marie Leão (Mash-up).
short M.i.p.V's history:
Músicas intermináveis para Viagem (Endless music for Tripping) made its debut in April 24 of 2004, in a small bar on the South side of Porto Alegre-Brazil.
Since then, the band released three albums, did many concerts in its hometown and other capitals of Brazil and Latin America, in addition to appearances on festivals and tours in Europe. And in the last 9 years, many concerts in Berlin.
The first album "Músicas intermináveis para Viagem" (2006) was produced independently, but distributed by Tratore and RN-14 labels, received excellent reviews in Brazil and was nominated for the Best Instrumental Album of the Year -Prize Dynamite Toddy/2007.
The second CD, "M.i.p.V II", was released in Berlin (Germany) in 2011 by the label Solaris Empire, with distribution of Broken Silence. “M.i.p.V II” had a new release online in 2012 and was praised in the German press, being the M.i.p. V compared to bands like Durutti Column, Tortoise, Department, Clair Obscur, Neu! and La Düsseldorf, and surprising as a band that makes a new and ‘autoral’ sound, without falling into the déjà vu of the traditional Brazilian music.
The band is a guitar + drums duo and since 2009 is in part based in Berlin, where lives the guitarist LauraL (aka Laura Leiner).
M.i.p.V also released a new Single in Dec.2014, “Bring me your sea that I give you my ocean”, produced by Martin Bisi in BC Studios (NYC).
The work with Martin Bisi continued in the third album "Modus Continuos", released in 2016 and produced and mixed in the BC Studios, NYC.
