Swan Meat is a producer from Washington, D.C. currently living in Cologne Germany. She burst onto the scene with her debut EP, Bounty, released on Paris' experimental PERMALNK label at the beginning of 2017, and has since been highly prolific, releasing a series of terrifying, high-energy, cinematic singles and remixes for a variety of labels. In the past year alone she's released a collaborative EP/tape with the producer Yoshitaka Hikawa (Knife Splits Ice, Apothecary Compositions), a self-released mini-EP called Lathe of Heaven, and her second official solo EP, TAME, on Kamixlo + Endgame's Bala Club label, solidifying a signature sound equal parts menacing & uplifting: inscrutable vocaloid lyrics mingle with blockbuster MIDI string and horn arrangements; roiling, rolling layers of taiko drums and toms weave in and out of 808 hits and breakbeats; organic sound design meets headfirst an earnest love for the 16-bit sound of old SNES games.
