Buntu loves to fuse art and music in unique surroundings, showcasing London's unique underground DJs, visual artists alongside live instrumentalists. Buntu (UK & South Africa) is a foundation for a community, bringing together like-minded friends to encourage creative expression.
Buntu is a beautiful — and old — concept. Ubuntu can be translated as “human kindness,” but its meaning is much bigger in scope than that — it embodies the ideas of connection, community, and mutual caring for all.
Samantha Blackburn
South African born Samantha Blackburn has in recent years established herself as one of London’s best female talents to emerge onto the scene. She is the founder of Buntu. She has played all over London including at Fabric, Egg London, and Ministry of Sound, and in South Africa and the Phillipines.
She has played played along side artists such as Slam, Josh Wink, Anja Schneider, Mr C, Catz N Dogz, Robert Babicz, DJ T, Ray Okpara, MoBlack and Just Her.

Kat Richmond
Kat Richmond is an electronic music producer and DJ based in east London. She is resident of Buntu, one half of Arsenic Mines, founder of Electronic 17, and producer of the Glittering Plains dance stage at the Barbican's festival in east London, the Walthamstow Garden Party. She has played alongside artists such as A Guy Called Gerald, Ewan Pearson, Dave Congreve, Faze Action, Just Her, Leif, Terry Farley, Ali Renault, and Timothy J. Fairplay.

Chanel Cochrane
Chanel Cochranes’ raw talent revealed itself from a young age when she first picked up a guitar at age 7. Starting off by writing songs and playing to her family and friends, two decades on, she is making waves on the scene as a Producer, DJ, musician and songwriter. Firmly establishing herself in London, as her alias DJ Chen, she secured a residency at Gigalum and played at the UK’s most sought after clubs including Ministry of Sound, Pacha and Brixton Academy. She launched and ran the highly-successful “Hiz n' Herz” club nights in London. She’s also featured with some of the biggest and best names in the industry such as Mark Knight, Umek, Wolfgang Gartner, Maxi Jazz, Carl Cox, Mauro Picotto, Judge Jules, Erica Elle, Troydon, Hilton Caswell, Giom, Paul van Dyk, and Defected in da House.
