The third festival day explores the tension between composition, performance and visual-scenic concepts. Expect one German and one world premiere of electronic and acousmatic multi-channel compositions by the Spanish-born and Belgium-based composer Charo Calvo as well as works and performances by the Moroccan composer and sound artist Sukitoa o Namau. In addition, political and socio-critical topics will be brought into focus with Andrea Szigetvari's "Beef Kohlrabi Cantata" (German premiere), in which she processes field recordings and interviews with displaced persons from the Keleti train station in Budapest in 2015 and with "Borderless" by The Lappetites, whose members are Kaffe Mathews, Ryoko Akama and Antye Greie. The world premiere and festival comission of Antye Greie’s | AGF’s new work "Position / Sound / Composition" is another highlight of the last evening of the festival. The international highly acclaimed artist Antye Greie | AGF aka poemproducer was appointed as guest curator for the current Festival edition.
Concerts, performances, video art and discourse: for the sixth time since 2014, “Heroines of Sound” presents early and contemporary heroines of electronic sound at radialsystem. With more than thirty artists, the festival addresses boundaries and transgressions that broaden artistic terrain and question aesthetic norms. This year’s festival will focus on artists from Hungary and Slovenia. The concluding highlight is a premiere by AGF, internationally renowned artist and activist, and this year’s Heroines guest curator.
