i_c are proud to announce our next guest is Swiss producer/dj and label owner of Idealistmusic and Details Series, Idealist. For his debut tour of Australia Idealist will play both a live set and DJ set in the courtyard of our spiritual home that was previously Barsoma, now Honkytonks Bar.
Idealist (Idealistmusic/ Details Series)
Based in Zurich (Switzerland), Idealist has already produced music for more than a decade. But only in the previous five years has he taken the next steps and signed tracks to labels like Echocord, Pro-Tez and Berg Audio and focused on building up his own imprint Idealistmusic with its sublabel Details Series. Both of which gained him wide international recognition.
In September 2016, Idealist released his anticipated debut album „Firewood Street“, a deep manifestation of the sound of his earlier tracks which might invoke vivid memories of dance music's glorious past in between Robert Hood, Basic Channel and some unpolished Chicago roughness.
The recent success and attention lead him to gigs across Europe, Canada, US and Georgia, where he played in clubs like Tresor, Batofar, Culture Box and shared the decks with DJs like Delano Smith and Fred P.
Echo Inspectors (Primary Colours)
Echo Inspectors is the brain child of Lance Harrison & Mark Baumann. Having come together as an idea in 2012, the pair has gone form strength to strength. They have now thirteen releases under their belt on such prestigious techno labels as ETUI Records (GER), Silverash Records (UK), Star Dub (GER) and Buxton Records (AUS) as well as on their own imprint, Primary [colours].
These productions have been played and supported all over the globe with consistent sell outs of their vinyl releases. The popularity of their signature deep & dub techno sound has allowed the pair to perform their music live at events and festivals all over the globe including Watergate (Berlin), Rechenzentrum (Berlin), Andromeda Festival (QLD), Melbourne Music Week (VIC), Strawberry Fields, Piknic Electronique and Inner Varnika (VIC).
