Wiggle come to Farringdon in celebration of their 25th anniversary. Back in 1994 Terry Francis, Nathan Coles and Eddie Richards first united to throw parties together as Wiggle across London, championing a bass-heavy style of 4/4 that fused elements of punchy techno with a slick house groove. Within two years, they’d set up their own label as the main outlet for a new sound they dubbed tech house. The Wiggle label and party quickly inspired one of the capital’s most thriving underground movements, pioneering a genre that’s evolved to charge dancefloors across the world today. The records Wiggle released together through the late 90s and early 2000s are widely regarded among the sound’s most seminal moments, still beloved by DJs and deep digging dance music fans alike. Wiggle has also been an important part of our story. Tech house shaped the sound of Saturday nights in EC1 through our early years, with Terry Francis its main proponent as our weekly resident DJ. While Francis remains one of our prized mainstays, with a recent compilation release marking 25 years of Wiggle, the crew has been busy celebrating its milestone anniversary. Having hosted countless nights with us since 1999, they return for a special showcase. Francis, Coles and Richards are joined by two of tech house’s most influential faces, Layo & Bushwacka! The UK duo has put out countless timeless records over the years, and through their long-running residency at The End, they made a huge impact on London’s clubbing scene. This September, they make a rare return to the decks together alongside Wiggle. The bill is finally rounded off by two fresher faces helping to represent Wiggle’s future, Ollie Drummond and Oliver Moon.
