For the thirteenth consecutive year the multifaceted Way Out West festival will be held in Slottsskogen and areas around central Gothenburg. The dates will be August 8–10, 2019.
For twelve years, the multifaceted festival Way Out West – that attracts visitors from all over Sweden and large parts of the rest of the world – has filled Gothenburg and Slottsskogen with three days of music, festivities and culture. The programme includes the biggest stars in the world, the hottest newcomers, film premieres, challenging conversations, award-winning vegetarian food and a robust club programme called ‘Stay Out West’ that takes place at night in central Gothenburg.
The ground concept remains the same; over three days a cultural melting-pot is established in central Gothenburg and the main area beautiful Slottsskogen. We create the festival that we would like to visit ourselves, and one that we don’t think exists anywhere else in the world. By following that recipe, the festival has attracted over 100 000 visitors yearly.
Area Dungen is the place for everyone who likes to party. A green, beautiful and somewhat hidden oasis for electronic dance music in the heart of Slottsskogen. Euphoria from early afternoon to late night. On stage, you’re able to catch both international super stars, as well as the most exciting Swedish DJ exports of the current day. Pulsating beats and house-y cuts mixed together without a notion of pause or a break. The setting can be likened with a mixture of a night club and an open air, where the common denominator is the music – always chosen with fingerspitzengefühl. With its big bar area, relaxed environment and paradise-like atmosphere Dungen is the area that makes your festival visit complete. When the music goes silent in Slottsskogen, the party continues at Bananpiren and the Dungeon stage, which is an area completely dedicated to dance music. Dungen and Dungeon are presented in collaboration with Red Bull.
