For our first August event we welcome a couple of New England DJs/Producers who are constantly pushing and evolving their sound into new and forgotten sonic territory. These incredibly talented taste makers are going to take us on a wild ride.
*Foamek*
Foamek, aka Jake Davis, is a producer/DJ from Connecticut, USA. His obsession with dance music began in 2001, when at just 11 years old he saw a TV ad for Ministry Of Sound’s “Trance Nation America 2” mix CD which soon was gifted to him by his parents. As time went on, his CD collection grew, and in 2003 he got his hands on the first edition of the popular music production software Fruity Loops, now known as FL Studio. With no prior musical training, he was spending more time writing and producing music than he was on schoolwork. Active in online forums for electronic music such as Discogs, he acquired a taste for a myriad of different subgenres, from the hazy, tape hiss-glazed dub techno of Basic Channel and Deepchord, the simultaneously frenetic and sublime IDM of Aphex Twin to the lazy sunday afternoon stylings of Boards Of Canada. His first album was released on Milieu Music in 2008 while he was a junior in high school, and 2 more releases followed it before graduation. His first releases were comprised mostly of braindance, IDM, and ambient. After high school, he moved to Vermont and learned the art of DJ’ing, eventually earning a residency in Burlington, VT’s hub for house and techno, The Half Lounge. His music has undergone various forms of evolution, but his claim to mild notoriety came from a slew of releases in the genre known as “lofi house.” With releases on Palmstructure, Nerang Recordings, Too Rough 4 Radio, Haus Of ALTR, Youngbloods, Recycled Plastics, and most recently signing to UK rave titan Herve’s label Cheap Thrills, he shows no signs of slowing down and suggest no intention of bringing anything but heat to the dancefloor.

*Gluten Free DJ*
Meme-god and UK Rave Culture LARPer, Gluten Free DJ is an adventurous tastemaker, who has amassed a dedicated national and global following via their numerous radio residencies on platforms such as RWD FM, Transit FM, and Vandelay Radio, as well as moderating the online group Our Houz. In recent months they’ve supplied mixes for labels like Haus of Altr, JEROME & Chequered Wax and played warehouses in Brooklyn, Denver, and Hartford. Their debut single with Orlando Boom “The Wake Up Track” was released earlier this year on Thirty Year Records.
