성공은 한 순간에 오지 않았다. 그의 초기 시절 암스테르담에서 커피 샵에서 라이브 디제잉을 하며 겨우 생계를 유지했으며 그 돈으로는 자신의 바이닐 중독만을 충족시킬 수 있었다.
로컬 레이블이었던 Rush Hour가 2006년 그의 데뷔 싱글인 “Live With The BBQ”를 재빨리 붙잡았을 때, 그는 이미 디스코, 부기, 신스 펑크, 디트로이트 테크노 등 30년이란 댄스 음악의 정수를 혼합시키는 스타일로 자신의 트레이드 마크를 발전시킨 이후였다.
그는 비길 데 없는 근면성으로 “Use Me Again”과 2015년에 나온 “Hidden Heart Of Gold”, “Brutal Romance”까지의 현대판 클래식들을 포함하여 Rush Hour 레코즈에서 나온 일련의 LP/EP를 계속해서 공개해왔다. 작년 그는 Dekmantel records에서 평단의 큰 찬사를 받은 "Bergen" LP를 공개했다.
An internationally renowned DJ, producer, live performer and label owner, Tom Trago divides his time between all-day studio sessions, DJ gigs and live shows all over the world, and a steady stream of musical collaborations.
Success wasn’t instant, and in his early years in Amsterdam he barely eked a living DJing in coffee shops, earning just enough to afford to feed his vinyl addiction.
By the time local label Rush Hour snapped up his debut single, “Live With The BBQ”, in 2006, he’d already developed a trademark style that blended the best of three decades of dance music – disco, boogie, synth funk, Detroit techno and more – with insatiable house rhythms and an intrinsic grasp of what makes dance floors tick.
He has followed with an unmatched work ethic and a slew of LPs and EPs on Rush hour records including “Use Me Again” and 2015’s equally delicious “Hidden Heart Of Gold” and “Brutal Romance” all modern classics. Last year he released the huge critically acclaimed "Bergen" LP on Dekmantel records.
