CURRENCY makes his west coast debut, bringing his generative, percussive breakbeat/idm/bass project to F8
CURRENCY is an improvisational performance project exploring the unique rhythmic phrasing found in bass-forward electronic music such as jungle, UK garage, dubstep and house. The brainchild of percussionist and producer Rajeev Maddela, CURRENCY aims to navigate this spectrum of genres via Ableton Live, Max/MSP and MIDI percussion triggers (Roland V-Drums and Alternate Mode DrumKAT DK-10), using stimulating sound design and velocity-sensitive patch programming, resulting in spontaneous and dynamic performances. CURRENCY creates entirely realized full frequency range tracks on the fly and without any backing tracks, freeing him to change tempos and genres at whim. Expect high quality sound design, soothing atmospheres, and breakneck chops.
