Astral Industries should need no introduction. Since 2014, the UK-based record label is probably best known for its enlightening and enchanting vinyl releases as well as brilliant artwork by Theo Ellsworth. Once acquainted with the label and their ethos, it becomes immediately clear that this is a game of quality over quantity (and that goes for the exceptional artwork and high quality pressings too). Their sound is immersively psychedelic, yet at the same time, it is imbued with a distinctly human quality – something that was relatable yet ethereal. Their work has provided new take-ons on obscure and forgotten gems of the past that deserve artistic reinterpretation.
Ario, the artist and curator behind Astral Industries, is best known for deeply-layered hypnotic and enigmatic textures which fearlessly push musical boundaries and requires your full escapist attention. He will be joined by London based ambient maestro, producer and founder of Camera Obscura, Henrique (Hems).
Mysteries of the Deep is a New York-based record label, podcast, and event series — focused on ambient & experimental music in various forms. As its name implies, Mysteries — as fans lovingly call it — is concerned with exploration of unknown realms, and its focus, in addition to showcasing a dynamic spectrum of electronic music from foremost artists in the field, is to thoughtfully engage its audience. Conceptualized in 2011, Mysteries began as a podcast series that, now in its eighth year, has hosted an array of mixes and original works. The project has since evolved, expanding into a curated event series and, more recently, a burgeoning record label.
Grant Aaron, the curator of the Mysteries of the Deep podcast, record label, and event series based in NY and founding member of the experimental band, Birds of Prey will be one of the highlights of this event.
Kizen, a fairly young record label in the scene of ambient/ experimental & techno, known for its otherworldly and cryptic sound accompanied with a poetic curation, is bringing together this strong line up in Hong Kong for which, the founder, Romi will represent their sound.
