Convextion aka E.R.P.:
Since his earliest efforts made their mysterious appearance in the late ‘90s in record shops worldwide, Convextion has been the most feted alias of Gerard Hanson, a producer also celebrated for his electro-leaning work as E.R.P. Part of a small circle of Dallas-based electro fiends (that includes Maceo Plex under his now-again Mariel Ito project and other early aliases), Hanson remained resolutely underground even as his profile has risen, bringing wider recognition in recent years along with more releases. Citing Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Mike Banks, Carl Craig, and early European ambient techno as main influences, he keeps the wide-eyed beauty and melancholy of early techno and electro alive, while bringing significant updates to its sound in his own unmistakable style.
Heidi Sabertooth:
Recently reaching international recognition with releases on New York Haunted, Lobster Theremin, and Lost Soul Enterprises, Heidi Sabretooth is a Brooklyn-based producer and DJ whose work focuses on electro, acid and techno. Her gradual rise to prominence is powered by production experience and immersion in electronic music for over 10 years, and her hardworking ethic keeps her very visible both at home in NYC and increasingly abroad with respected live and vinyl-heavy DJ sets.
Taimur:
As the artistic director of New York’s infamous BlkMarket Membership warehouse parties and as a former buyer for Halcyon Records, Taimur exerted incalculable influence on the direction of New York’s party scene since its reemergence in 2006. Following BlkMarket Membership’s end and a shift to Miami as his home base, he has kept himself busy with his label, BlkMarket Music, a new series of events The Selectors in both NYC and Miami, his entry into production alongside some of Miami’s most talented producers and underground electro legends, and gigs both nationally and internationally. One of the reigning kings and best DJs in New York’s afterhours scene, there’s never a dull moment when he steps behind the decks for an inimitable, extended excursion.
