Born in West Berlin, he made his first DJ residency in the autumn of 1989 in the "Fischlabor" bar, the little older sister of the famous "Tresor" club. There he presented a mix of dub, rare grooves, lover's rock, hip hop and every Wednesday electronica.
Shortly after the opening of "Tresor" on Potsdamer Platz, he (and his fellow DJ Terri Belle) took over the floor of the "Globus" on Saturdays, played a similar mix of music and added some underground house music for a few hours at the end of each night.
In 1991, Cle joined the "Planet" crew, which encouraged him to play at their warehouse raves, which led to a residency at the legendary "e-werk" club in 1993-1997. During this time, he also worked at the desk in the memorable record store "new noise" and began his first "own" night Kaspar Camp in the (later "society" club) "90 °" to organize.
In 1998, he and his partner Mike Vamp founded the highly successful electronic / pop / house / ambient project "Maertini Broes." In total, they released six albums and countless remixes, and released them along with his longtime Friend Steve Bug first tracks on his label "Poker Flat Recordings".
In 2002 Cle founded Terri Belle and Daniel W. Best feat. Dixon the collective "Washing Machine".
Cle also founded a new vinyl-only label "Apes Go Bananas" with Steve Bug with two 3-track EP releases in 2015/16.
Already in 2014, he teamed up with Berlin-based DJ Eva Be to produce music under the name LoYoTo. They released their first EP "looking at the starz" on "upon you recordings" (2015), followed by "lonely young tourist" for "watergate records." Their episodes "karmadog ep" and "buchin ep" were released in 2018 and 2019 In 2019 LoYoTo founded their own label "LYT Recordings", where they released their first album "Sicker Man Variations".
