Meetsss Day 3: A Night at the Beach

  • Day 3 of MEETSSS - the inaugural female-first, music-forward conference by shesaid.so Co-curated with Pipol. --- CRLN is an Italian singer-songwriter born in 1993 in San Benedetto del Tronto. She got into music at the age of 12, and after a few experiences as a member of small bands she decided to start her own project and to write her first original songs. Her first EP, titled "CAROLINE", was released in May 2016 for the Italian label Macro Beats and focused the attention of the press on her as a promising young Italian female artist. Two years and several concerts later, she released her first album "PRECIPITAZIONI" in March 2018, her sound now evolving into an emotional and intriguing path going through all sorts of indie pop and electronic music. Since then, CRLN played some of the most important Italian music festivals such as MI AMI, Home and Viva Festival, growing an increasingly diversified and wide audience. CRLN is an artist curated by Italia Music Export. --- Da Chick - After her first release in 2012 with the Curly Mess EP, came the hit live shows, always served with a singular badass attitude that doesn’t ask for permission to shower the audience with the most urgent and real funk. The debut album Chick to Chick arrived in 2015 , produced alongside Xinobi, Moullinex, Cut Slack and Isac Ace, and it marked a very important moment in her constantly growing career. Call Me Foxy EP was released in 2017, and it’s co-produced by French producer Saintard. Don’t Feel Like Talkin’, a digital mixtape available on her Mixcloud, is another recent sample of Da Chick’s singularity and talent, where she assumes total control of beat production and also started playing her own DJ sets. --- Deena Abdelwahed made a dramatic entrance onto InFiné`s discography remixing the latest single of Bachar Mar-Khalife "Lemon" before adding her very own contribution to our compilation series #Explorer with Space + Kadhab. Deena starts her carreer in Tunis at the microphone of the jazz band "So Soulful" and later moved behind the decks of the deejay collective "World Full of Bass". After the Revolution in 2011, electronic music became the preferred outlet of the Tunisian youths "to release their frustrations". At the crossroads of Pan-Arab traditional, Bass Ambient and Techno music, the early productions of Deena rapidly gained support from Acid Arab, Morphosis or Debruit before arriving to our ears. Deena currently lives between Tunisia and Toulouse in France and multiplies live performances all over Europe. --- Known for her acclaimed work with media art / pop band Pentatones and a back catalogue of collaborations that reads like the who’s-who of underground electronic dance music, Delhia de France has been forging her solo career between Berlin and LA over the last 2 years.The writer, producer and performer has released her solo debut EP Moirai in 2018. Co-produced with renowned artist Robot Koch, with whom Delhia has been working closely over the years, the EP saw support by Spotify, XL8R, Clash Magazine and Kaltblut Magazine. Her sophomore EP Oceanides is out June 26th with remixes by Adriatique and upcoming ones by Monkey Safari, Fur Coat and Janus Rasmussen (Kiasmos). --- Roundhouse Kick is a project agent of change in the Algarve electronic dance scene. Pariahs in their commitment to freshness and the underground, the duo of producers and DJs, Adriana Lourinho (EDND) and Igor Inácio (Lost In Space) began collaborating in 2011. Their first live performance on PISTÃO night, curated by Miguel Sá and Marcio Matos, quickly grabbed the most demanding fans of electronic dance music, providing gigs that have taken them from south to north of the country, and have made them an assiduous presence in spaces such as Lux Frágil. --- To celebrate five years since shesaid.so launched in London at the end of 2014, the community has introduced MEETSSS, the inaugural female-first, music-forward event with the aim to explore the future of the music industry through a female lens. MEETSSS brings together shesaid.so members and non-members from all over the world in Portimão, Portugal to bring their online connection to life and to nurture new friendships in the music industry. The event is aimed at music executives from all industry sectors, artists and other professionals interested in forging connections with music stakeholders. Open to all genders. Taking place October 3-6, confirmed partners include YouTube Music, British Council, Kobalt, Live Nation, The Orchard, Pioneer DJ to name a few.
