Ciel returns to Los Angeles with more vigor than ever; the love she holds for inventive, rhythmic house records holds apparent just through the sound, her attentive knowledge of every break and synth stab through every transition, guided by a steady climb she knows better than most from years of rave-throwing. After more touring than ever and flurries of releases, we expect less an update, and more a wider view of what music can mean, to her and you.
Changsie finds her American debut here, past a decade of open-minded selecting and space-building through Japan. Techno just breezes together under her hands in effortless construction; eccentric rhythms come further into life as clouds of bass, rave synths, and reverb prance past, and the world around you will feel a little weirder afterwards. That's a good thing.
