Following on from Yoruba Records head honcho live show at the Jazz cafe,
for the first time in London, we'll be showcasing the talents of a host of Yoruba record label artists under one roof. It's gonna be a true Yoruba family affair.
Before the term "afro house'' was a coined, Yoruba Records has championed the sound that fused the sound of the african drum and percussion with the sensibilities of dance music, inspiring a whole generation of producers, DJs, labels and a whole genre of music.
The night will feature some special guests including Po-lar-i-ty. A collaboration exploring sonic nuances of polar opposites. While combining electronic and organic elements this duo creates a palette unheard until now.
At One has been making waves with records under his belt with dance music's two coveted lables Atjazz Record Co and Yoruba Records. With an uncompromising stance both on his DJ sets and production, there is a reason why At One is held in such high regard.
Kyri R2 is the creator of R2 records releasing the likes of Karizma, Osunlade, Loftsoul and many others.
4 To The Floor residents Kengo Oshima, Jay Carder, djsoulprovyder and Rickyboom will be kicking off the proceedings on the night. The crew are responsible for pushing the more leftfield side of dance music as well as being part of a global community of dancers who come to their parties.
