JoeFarr is widely regarded as a skilled craftsman of electronic music, having flourished quickly since he first emerged in 2011 to become an identifiable name within the underground scene. He’s built an impressive body of work, including recent productions on his own label User Experience, Berghain’s left field leaning Leisure System, Tiga’s TURBO, South London Analogue Material, ARTS, Hypercolour sub label Hype LTD and Power Vacuum which have secured him a reputation as a forward thinking, innovative and inspiring musical talent. He has remixed Tiga, Audion, Zombie Nation, Rebekah and Suuns, collabs with J. Tijn and Martyn Hare and has been remixed by Truss, Max Cooper, Ansome and Tessela to name but a few. Known for earth shattering mutant drum lines and a Bristolian rave/bass sensibility drawing from Dubstep, Jungle and IDM, JoeFarr’s discourse with the outer edges of techno present themselves as some of the most interesting and forward thinking iterations of “functional” dance music to date and we are very much looking forward to seeing the damage he does on our dance-floor for his hotly tipped debut Australian appearance!
Joining JoeFarr to complete our huge duo of international headliners is the one and only NIGHTWAVE! - Glasgow based DJ, producer, vocalist, club promoter and label boss with a punchy signature sound of acid, Chicago house, Detroit techno and electro fused with heady rave nostalgia - all the while keeping things 100% focussed on the BASS. Her releases on labels Unknown To The Unknown, Fool's Gold, Balkan Vinyl, Fabric, Ministry of Sound, Warp Records and her own imprint Heka Trax have secured widespread kudos and praise from the world’s most respected music outlets. Renowned for her energetic genre-bending DJ sets, Nightwave has played major clubs and festivals around the globe such as Sonar Barcelona & Tokyo, Bestival, Movement, Bangface, Electric Picnic, Notting Hill Carnival, Outlook, Isle of Wight, Exit etc. Her extensive mix archive can be found on her Soundcloud and features recordings for Boiler Room, Resident Advisor, Crack, Mixmag, Ninja Tune, DJ Mag, The Fader, BBC, NTS, Beats1 etc. Back home in Glasgow she continues to run her club night Nightrave which has hosted the likes of Lone, DJ Bone, Laurel Halo and Nathan Fake. Maya is also a passionate advocate for gender equality in the music industry; regularly hosting production and DJ skills workshops for girls as young as eight. She also co-runs Producergirls, a free UK workshop for women and has lectured at the EU initiative in Brussels as well as India as a part of British Council’s Women In Electronic Music project.
