2019년 10월 19일 토요일 밤, 스위스 바젤(Basel)에서 시작된 팟 캐스트 및 파티 시리즈 ‘SENSE’와 함께하는 밤이 서울 벌트에서 열립니다. 바젤 딥-언더그라운드 씬의 핵심적인 두 아티스트 - Morphing Territories, Simon Lemont와 함께 스위스 딥 테크노의 아름다움을 만끽할 수 있는 SENSE Night @ vurt.는 토요일 밤 11시부터 시작됩니다. 벌트의 레지던트 아티스트 SUNA가 클로징 셋으로 서포트 합니다.
Morphing Territories
모핑 테리토리스(Morphing Territories)의 음악은 엠비언트의 텍스처와 테크노적인 구조 사이에서 진동하여 사이키델릭한 배열과 덥(dub)적인 패턴으로 진화한다. 필드 레코딩을 통해 실질적인 경험으로부터 추출된 유기적인 주파수는 스튜디오에서 자신의 사운드로 구성되어 댄스 플로어에서 청중들을 움직인다.
Morphing Territories is driven by a certain interest in architectures and the modularity of sound.
His music oscillates between ambient textures and technoid structures that merge into evolving soundscapes of psychedelic sequences and dubby patterns. Found in field recordings and extracted from the substance of experience, organic frequencies turn into morphing sound constructions in the studio and bend minds on the dancefloor.
Simon Lemont
스위스 바젤(Basel)에서 활동중인 사이먼 레몬트(Simon Lemont)는 바젤 로컬 씬을 이끌고 있는 핵심적인 아티스트이다. 그동안 진행해온 수 많은 프로젝트를 통해 자신만의 비젼을 제시해 온 사이먼은 DJ 활동과 아티스트로서의 작업 뿐만 아니라, ‘SENSE‘, ‘A Walking Contradiction’등의 창조적인 프로젝트들을 큐레이션 하며 끊임없이 자신의 생각을 리스너들에게 전달하고 있다. 일렉트로닉 음악에 대한 사이먼의 깊고 오랜 애정은 매우 개인적이고 비밀스러운 공간에서 사운드로 표현되어 리스너들과 만나게 된다. 그는 음악을 통해 리스너들과 함께 일상적인 경험들을 공유하며 그들의 잠재되어 있는 무엇인가를 떠올리게 함으로써 더욱 친밀한 관계를 만들어 나간다. 글과 언어로는 불가능한 부분까지도 사운드를 통해 소통하는 사이먼과의 관계는 모두에게 놀라운 청각적 경험을 제공한다. 사이먼은 지금도 새로운 소리들을 찾고 또 준비하며 리스너들과 소통할 이상적인 순간을 기다리고 있다.
Hailing from Basel, Switzerland, Simon Lemont is key member of the town’s close-knit and nurturing scene. Sharing his vision across a number of projects, Simon is forever propping-up the ideas of those around him—as well as his own DJ and production work, he co-curates ‘SENSE‘ and ‘A Walking Contradiction’, a music and research label on which he will soon release his own music under his alias ‘eana’. Simon’s long-standing love of electronic music recognizes the very personal, private space these sounds can occupy for the listener. Far from engaging in musical escapism, Simon is willingly vulnerable alongside his audience, creating an intimate world with feelings rising to the surface about everyday experiences and subconscious thoughts. Intentionally bypassing the shortcomings of text and language, Simon’s ethos of wordless interpersonal connection guides him to create touching aural environments. He finds deep pleasure in the discovery of new sounds: listening, cataloging and banking each one, waiting for the ideal moment to share them with his audience.
