Starting his career in 2005, Durand was recommended by Tiësto as his 'Tip For The Top in 2007' in DJ Magazine. In that same year he was placed in the DJ Magazine Top 100 DJs poll. His first creations were tech trance singles "Make Me Scream" and "Slipping Away" on the Terminal 4 label, but his real success started with remixes of Tiësto singles "Lethal Industry", "Flight 643" and "Break My Fall."
2018 saw the release of his latest album, "The Air We Breathe" on Black Hole recordings, introducing a tougher, more driving focus to a well-honed combination of hypnotic and uplifting themes.
What has set Richard Durand's DJ sets apart from other leading producers are his exclusive reworks of big dance tunes from right across the dance spectrum. Once given a Richard rework, tracks such as Prodigy 'Smack My Bitch Up', Snow Patrol 'Chasing Cars' and Art of Trance 'Madagascar' are brought bang up to date in a storming tech trance fusion. It’s a winning formula that’s been setting dancefloors on fire and making Richard Durand a buzz name.
