We did it. Our first party (mid November 2019) was a modest affair thanks to everybody who made the effort to turn up and support us. GBL want to especially thank DJ Dubois for blessing our ears with a fine club set brimming with plenty of underground timeless cuts, plus surefire classics that brought everyone out of their shells and brightened up the dance floor - at Peckham Gallery, a new home for Girlz B Like.
Shouts out to Zibusiso and the PG team for their wonderful hospitality and assistance throughout, and big hug to our fab door lady Carol, you all are stars, thank you!
Our next party falls in the season of Christmas, so of course it will be an extra jolly occasion for you to join Girlz B Like on another vinyl expedition - what a way to close out the 2000's. As usual with our parties we like to introduce you to talented queens who are shining and slaying in their own lanes; making this happen; sisters' doin' it for themselves.
Guest Aquila makes her debut here, which we are tremendously excited about especially as Marcia DaVinylMC has DJ’ed with her in the past.

Simply known as Aquila. An avid record collector and DJ, they have always proudly enthused about their love of records "vinyl is Queen, if you want me to DJ, you gotta have vinyl decks!”
With that kind of motto in mind, it’s that attitude and passion which has let to Aquila to spin at a variety of underground night like Queer Ball, Organic Nubian, Sunday Happy Sunday, Supersonic, The Black & White Party to name but a few, through to their current residency at The National Portrait Gallery in London.
Drawing on their fondness of Afro riddims, Broken Beat (Bruk), Boogie and Disco, it is that penchant to fuse together, to cross-genre those connections through music has always fills dance floors and generates an atmosphere of joy for them - a vibe you do not want to miss out on!

is a woman of many talents - a the long standing club DJ and radio presenter and producer of Everything Good - a regular presentation on London station Rinse.fm, and also the curator and director of the all-vinyl, female DJ squad Girlz B Like.
