CHRISTOPHER JOSEPH is often
found behind the decks of Tresor and Griessmuehle. But he is perhaps better known for starting FLEXXSEAL, a Berlin-based label with tracks charted by the likes of contemporary artists Héctor Oaks and VTSS, and classic artists, such as Stingray. Joseph’s 90’s-inspired style carries the trendy nostalgia into this era, with kicks that move, rather than strain, rumbling bass —paradoxically crisp— topped with synth melody that is never cheesy. He last played Bossa Nova Civic Club in 2017, to a full sweaty crowd and after three years, we will finally hear him again.
