5 years on from the mix that ignited a movement, Plastician brings an international collective of artists from the Wave genre to play inside Peckham Audio.
For those unaware of the buzz that the Wavepool mix stirred up, in 2015 many publications had began asking the question as to whether or not Plastician had unearthed the beginnings of a new genre. Some argued for and against it, but ultimately looking back now 5 years later, the largely online hubs of the sound have grown into communities of thousands of producers and fans alike. Artists are extensively touring the States and Eastern Europe particularly, and the music that comes from the active producers is racking up millions of monthly streams.
To put it lightly, the line up drawn together for this event is quite possibly the biggest the genre has ever seen. Alongside Plastician who opened many people up to the sound, Klasey Jones - the enigmatic Terrorhythm affiliate makes up the British contingent and joins a host of international acts. Major players Barnacle Boi & Brothel from the USA join Vibe Digital's Fyoomz & Djedi and French starlet Juche will be bringing his trance tinged sound to the UK for the first time. For fans of the movement, this will be a chance to hear the genre played by those who have helped shape it to where it stands today inside Peckham's 200 capacity Peckham Audio space.
Music kicks off early at 8pm to ensure all acts can play at length. Tickets advised.
