The main influences for this night out at Section 8 include house, broken beat, jazz-funk, afro and disco, from all corners, in order to create a unique and cosmic pocket.
▬▬ Carlo Xavier (Sabrosa, Analog Africa) ▬▬
Melbourne based co-founder of Sabrosa and curator for world renowned Re-issue label Analog Africa, focussing on unchartered sounds from Africa, Amazonia and Caribbean regions, draws from a tropically soaked sound scape drenched in untamed rhythms and dance floor cadence, infamous for setting the party on fire.
▬▬ Walla C ▬▬
Is a hip hop producer and DJ from Brazil now resident in Melbourne. His compositions are known for their signature percussive style, feature intricate synths and draw inspiration from jazz, funk, and Afro-Brazilian sounds. His Roland SP555 live beat sets are spontaneous and complex, combining originals with reworks of contemporary classics. His DJ sets are dynamic and rhythm-driven, as he weaves effortlessly between Afrobeat, trap, raw baile funk and tropical bass to ignite dancefloors.
▬▬ Fei Pao (Hot Wax Soundsystem) ▬▬
Has been collecting and sharing rare grooves all of his life. Form the cult record shops and night spots of Norway, to the infamous record shops and night spots of Spain, Italy, Hong Kong and now Melbourne. By immersing himself in each country's rich and diverse music culture, Fai Pao has been able to carve out not only a vast and impressive record collection but a unique sound. This sound now moves dance floors all over Melbourne as does the might speakers of Hot Wax Soundsystem, If you're lucky enough to catch them in action.

Sharing line-ups with artists like Rahaan, Eric Duncan, Mr Mendel, and Selvagem, this Melbourne-based Argentinan is one of the talents to watch out for in the coming years. Founder of Highlife and one half of Wild Safari, this multifaceted selector has been curating a collection of precious gems from various genres like house, afro, latin, disco and more and sharing this musical wealth in dancefloors across the globe.
