You would be hard-pressed to find a name as intrinsically linked to modular production as Richard Devine. A musical composer, remixer and sound designer, whose presence and skill stretches far further than the art of performing. His sets have become renowned for writhing modular percussion, emphatic synth leads and glitchy, analog driven melodies. On the 30th April, Richard Devine is bringing the New Mutant Modular Live Acid to London's new venue, Orange Yard.
His discography boasts collaborations with Matthew Herbert, STS9 and Mike Patton, alongside four full-length albums released on Schematic, Warp, Asphodel and Sublight Records. Painstakingly designed with incredible attention to detail, all are mouthpieces for the sound Devine represents. Soho' new venue equipped with an all-encompassing soundsystem will make this performance extra special, providing a rare chance to experience the composer's work in a more intimate setting.
It is with great pleasure that we welcome the talented American for a rare live show on April 30th. Expect analogue sounds, glitchy modular productions and complex, jittering sound design.
